Our regular attender David has been studying Hawaiian spirituality for many years and is going to share some of his insights with us. From David:
“The world will turn to Hawaii as they search for world peace because
Hawaii has the key…and that key is Aloha.” —Aunty Pilahi Paki, 1962
In consideration of current world events, I find the time most appropriate to invite you to consider ancient wisdom for a modern application. The native people of the Hawaiian islands have long known intuitive truths that in our more materialistic mindset of the twentieth century are practically unheard of. The teachings on the deeper meaning of Aloha and other topics related to the unique culture of Hawaii hold deep revelations to the human condition and offer a pathway to a more holistic approach of living. It is my hope to share this knowledge which I am still a student myself, in hopes of creating awareness for an audience that suffers from the fear, hate, and indifference that has gripped the island we all call home, Earth. Join me, on March 2nd, 2025 as I try to bridge the gap between Western and Eastern schools of thought the Quaker way and learn how to live Aloha.
