South Jersey Quakers

Cropwell is a Friends Meeting and Quaker church community in Marlton, NJ. We’d love to have you visit us for worship any Sunday morning at 10 am.

Every Quaker Meeting has its own character and we invite anyone looking for a spiritual home to visit us as part of their search. At Cropwell we treasure our friendliness, our desire for a community grounded in the Holy Spirit, our in-person worship, and our genuine desire for new members.

Check out our upcoming calendar of events and learn what to expect when you worship with us.

Cropwell Meeting is on the border of Marlton and Cherry Hill Township. We draw visitors from Evesham Township, Lindenwold, Winslow Township, Hammonton, Voorhees, Berlin, Maple Shade, Collingswood, Gibbsboro, Pine Hill, Audubon, Tabernacle, and Atco. There are Quaker Meetings nearby in Haddonfield, Medford, Moorestown, and Mount Laurel.

Affiliations

Cropwell is part of Haddonfield Quarter, a group of 9 Meetings (what we call our churches) in Burlington, Camden, and Atlantic Counties that meets four times a year. These “Quarterly Meetings” usually include worship, a presentation, and some business.

The three nearest Quarterly Meetings have come together as the SouthJerseyQuakers project. There’s lots of great information about upcoming events and they have a YouTube channel that includes past presentations about Friends in South Jersey.

Quakers in the greater Philadelphia area are joined together as Philadelphia Yearly Meeting and we follow its Faith and Practice as our guide (and sometimes share portions of it during worship).

National and International Friends

There are many national and global Quaker organizations with which we engage. Friends General Conference and Friends United Meeting serve as umbrella organization for Quakers in North America and Friends World Committee for Consultation unites the many different flavors of Friends throughout the world. American Friends Service Committee is a advocacy organization that puts Quaker values into action, while Friends Committee on National Legislation is a lobbying group that helps Quakers have a voice in national political affairs. Friends Journal magazine publishes articles, news, and poetry on Quaker thought and life today and their QuakerSpeak YouTube series is useful for newcomers wanting to know more about Friends.
